This site is moving to travelaroundwithkris.com over the next month or two so follow me there if you are getting emails. The current Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr groups will still work.
There are few things that stay with you your entire life, and your experiences are one of them. When you travel, those memories are yours. You can’t lose them in a fire, they can’t be stolen, they are part of you. And they sometimes change who you are.
I love to travel. I love to plan to travel. I love figuring out the best way to try to fit everything in while I’m away. I’m always looking for the next deal I can find to go somewhere new (at least most of the time). It’s not that I don’t like the places that I’ve been, it’s just that there are so many new places to go.
Because of this, I am constantly thinking about travel. Where to go, what to do, what to see. What to do on the long plane ride or the long train ride. What foods to find and try. What cultural experiences do I have to find? What things I can buy to make travel easier? What books or movies can give me a good idea what the country is like?
And so I’ll put things on this page about any of that. How to travel as a solo woman. How to travel with your family or friends. How to pack. How to stay safe. I’m already doing it for me, I might as well offer it up in case it helps someone else find something to do, or eat, or see, or experience.
I also put up occasional flight deals I find. I’m in the Chicago area so I’m usually looking for good deals from ORD or MDW, but often those deals have similar fare sales from other large airports (often, NYC, LAX, etc). So even if I post one from Chicago, check out your major hub if it looks good to you and you may find a deal.
