Yellowstone waterfalls

Yellowstone, which is the first US National Park,  has dozens of waterfalls and cascades.

They range from small (10-20 feet tall) up to 300 feet tall (Yellowstone Falls).

Some of the waterfalls are right near roads, others a short easy walk from large parking lots, and others only reachable after minutes or hours of hiking, so everyone can enjoy them.

I think the best ones are: Upper and Lower Yellowstone Falls, Mystic Falls, Tower Falls, Undine Falls, and Fairy Falls.

Also of note is Cave Falls, which though not tall, is very wide, so interesting in its own way.

You really can’t go wrong visiting any of them.

A few of those are viewable from (or a very short walk from) the road, including Upper and Lower Yellowstone, Tower, Gibbon, and Undine.

Other nice falls that are near the road include Firehole Falls, Rustic Falls, Kepler Cascades, and Lewis Falls.

So, you have lots of options even if you don’t want to hike to see lovely waterfalls.

Rangers can easily point out on maps where the easiest to access falls are, as well as which might be worth a short hike, and which may be worth a longer hike if that’s what you like (Osprey Falls)P1200738 - best of
