In the US and other countries, many places have opened up that let you practice ax-throwing.

I tried this out this week with a local friend, and it was really fun.

Where I went, they showed us how to throw the ax and then gave us several practice throws.  Then the games began.  From a game like Horse, where we spelled TIMBER based on two throw pairings, to something where we had to get 2 of each score.

I love the bell-chime-y sound of taking the ax out of the wood target (or picking it up off the floor).

In the end, we got to dress up in “furs” and Viking helmets and get our picture taken with our axes.
